Medical Advisors
Obituary for Prof. Dr. med. Ulrich Cegla

For many years, as an outstanding pulmonologist, he guided CEGLA Medizintechnik with his professional expertise, experience, and clear insight into medical issues. His advice was always reliable and of great professional depth—both in the development of new products and in the creation of well-founded content for patients and medical professionals.
Prof. Dr. Cegla was a specialist in pulmonary and bronchial medicine, internal medicine, allergology, social medicine, physical therapy, and psychotherapy. His professional career took him from a professorship at the University of Freiburg to serving as medical director of the Hufeland Clinic in Bad Ems and eventually to leading a general practice in Dernbach.
With the development of the RC-Cornet® in 1998, he had a lasting impact on respiratory therapy and contributed significantly to the success of CEGLA Medizintechnik. His goal was always to provide people with chronic respiratory diseases with concrete and effective support in their daily lives.
Even beyond his work at CEGLA, he tirelessly advocated for patients, including as a member of the scientific advisory board for the patient organization Lungenemphysem-COPD Deutschland.
We thank him for his foresight, his warmth, and the trust he placed in us. His thoughts and ideas live on—in what we do every day and in our shared goal of making it easier for as many people as possible to breathe.
In quiet remembrance.
